Ljubljana-Washington…and Cleveland Exhibit

The Slovenian Museum and Archives (SMA) is proud to be presenting an art exhibit titled, Ljubljana-Washington…and Cleveland, which features photographs of these three cities’ unique Slovenian culture and landmarks. The exhibit, which includes over fifty photographs by Slovenian artists from Slovenia and Cleveland, will be on display during the Cultural Evening event honoring the anniversary of the death of Dr. France Preseren on February 8, 2009, also known as Slovenian Culture Day. The event, hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia, will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Slovenian National Home, which is located at 6417 St. Clair Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44103. The Slovenian Museum and Archives (SMA) and all Cleveland area Slovenian language programs are co-sponsors.
In addition to the photo exhibit, the Cultural Evening will include poetry reading, singing, and instrumental selections performed by students and teachers from St. Mary’s Slovenian School, St. Vitus Slovenian School, St. Vitus Adult Slovenian Language School, Cleveland State University’s Slovenian language course, and Lakeland Community College’s Slovenian language course. Free admission. Food and drink will be for sale in the Kenik Room following the program.
Ljubljana-Washington…and Cleveland exhibit will also be on display in the Lausche Atrium of St. Mary’s Parish Hall from February 14 thru February 25, 2009 during selected Slovenian events.
